The Public Dental Health service in Sogn og Fjordane is organized as an institution with a dental health department comprising four district departments. In each district, the supervising dentist is given the academic and administrative responsibilities of his/her district. The director of dental health service is their superior.

There is an established 80% position which takes care of the office work at the dental offices. The public dental health service provides treatment to all clientele. Clinics are modern and well equipped, and all have installed the computer-based patient record system (Opus).

There has been a bonus system agreement with the county. Under certain conditions, there is the possibility of renting the clinic for private practice outside normal working hours.
